Media Sales Jobs - working in media sales

Stats crunch

Nationals

National newspaper advertising in 2007 was worth £1.9billion!

But why…?

Brands analysed by dunnhumby & TNS Worldwide in 2006 showed newspaper advertising generated an immediate 5% sales increase, much of this from new customers to the brands that they tracked.

Great for sales but fantastic for branding too – Millward Brown discovered that adding newspapers results in more than 5 times the bonding than TV alone and doubles brand commitment.

Wondering how many people national newspapers reach or how much advertising revenue the medium takes?

For daily, weekly and monthly reach; total readership trends; loyalty of newspaper readership and advertising revenue performance and more,

Regionals

Regional press is the largest print advertising medium in the UK, taking £3 billion a year and accounting for 17% of all advertising revenue. Online recruitment advertising in the regional press grew by 25.6% in 2006, from £41.5m to £52.2m.

Total spend in the regional press is nearly six times the total spend on radio, and just a little more than the combined total for internet, cinema and radio.
